Radiation Cross Linked 3LPE Heat Shrink Sleeve for Pipeline Weld Joint Closure and Repair
HDPE Plastic Heat Shrink Sleeve Tape is a type of heat shrink anti-corrosion material designed for anti-corrosion and insulation joint repair of buried steel pipelines, and can also be used for sealing and anti-corrosion of pipeline flange connections. It is composed of radiation cross-linked polyolefin substrate and special sealing hot melt adhesive.
Instruction
PE-backed heat shrinkable sleeve (HSS) for the pipeline is composed of two layers: radiation cross-linked polyethylene backing and special heat melt adhesive. The heat shrinkable sleeve is applied together with a solvent-free two-component epoxy primer to form a three-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion coating (3LPE), which replicates the structure and performance of 3LPE coating in factory conditions, providing effective and long-term anti-corrosion for the welding joint of the steel pipe.
During installation, the epoxy is applied to the prepared pipe surface and the heat-shrinkable sleeve is immediately wrapped around the joint over the wet epoxy. Heat is then applied to the sleeve which shrinks to form a tight fit around the joint. While curing, the epoxy forms strong mechanical and chemical bonds to the pipe surface and to the copolymer adhesive layer. The radiation cross-linked outer layer forms a tough barrier against mechanical damage and moisture transmission.
According to the on-site construction environment, heat shrinkable tapes can be divided into open and closed types. Supporting products include EVA adhesive strips and fixing sheets, repair sheets, and solvent-free epoxy primer.
Application area:
It is mainly used for wrapping around the pipe, anti-corrosion of kinds of pipe joints, and repairing pipes.
For example Oil and gas pipe, PU insulation pipe, 3PE/2PE steel pipe,eating steel pipe interface anti-corrosion, water pipe interface anti-corrosion, etc.
